Questioning exam: The principles of acupuncture have been used for over five thousand years in the Orient and have also been used more recently in various European countries; with America being the last of our major countries in the world to accept and use its principles.

Western Diagnosis: no western explanation could be ascertained.
Medical History: This is a 60 year old male in relatively good health but readily apparent to be a type “A” personality with high stress levels.
Questioning exam: Upon questioning, his life was good from his point of view with no unusual high stress life experiences going on.

The Acupuncture Treatment of Hearing Loss
Chief Complaint: Loss of hearing
Western Diagnosis: Deafness
Medical History: 7 yrs. old child came to me with a history of suffering with coryza and fever for 7 days and sudden onset of deafness in both ears. Audiometery was done which shows moderate to severe deafness in both ears. No relief with allopathic medicines and child was advised hearing aid
Questioning exam: Child was very irritant and was not responding to oral commands may be due to deafness

The Acupuncture Treatment of Poor Vision
Chief Complaint: poor vision
Medical History: Patient was losing vision that could not be corrected with eye glasses. He was finally diagnosed after 3 years by a specialist at the Casey Eye Institute at the Univ. of Oregon Health Sciences Center. This disease is extremely rare and involves a type of hardening and twisting of the the eye. There is no treatment in Western medicine for this disease.

Medical History Emily, 36-year old, female. The patient has had edema which is more severe in the lower legs for one year. Three months ago, the patient visited her regular doctor and did a few refine checkup. She has glomerulonephritis and the urinary protein: +++, urinary red blood cell: 150. She has taken wilfordine for more than one month and gotten much better. The urinary protein: +, urinary red blood cell account: 50.

The Treatment of Migraines with Acupuncture
Chief Complaint: headache for over 20 years, and migraine pain(level 8) for six years
Medical History: patient is 42y/o female, has been to many doctors, chiropractors, and taking many medicines, but nothing helps. she felt headache in every single minutes. the migraine pain happened most of the time is during the period. Patient is a college teacher, teachs at two colleges. no smoking, no drinking history. Working out occasionaly, and sometimes swimming could trigger migraine pain.

Cyclic Migraine treated with Oriental medicine
Chief Complaint: Cyclic Migraine
Western Diagnosis: Cyclic Migraine
Medical History: Unremarkable. One MVA 8 years ago in which she had LBP and R shoulder pain but no problems for 4 years now. Occasional tension headache (one every 6-8 months).
Questioning exam: History of CC: Started 2 months after menarche. Migraines seen 10 out of 12 months per year (cyclic) and 5+ times a year non-cyclic. Has tried various contraceptives to help with migraines without benefit.
