Chief Complaint: vomiting/stomach reflux
Medical History: 3and a half year old, white male, autistic. Slow development. Not talking or walking. Has been seeing occupational therapist for over 2 years. Mild improvement. Patient has been vomiting food since birth. Mother is very persistent in following recommended procedures with past doctors. Diet is high in sugars, particularly fruit juice, cold foods,little to no daily water intake. No recurring medical problems besides those listed above. No history of ear infections or frequent colds/flus. Some fear of nutritional deficiency and lack of food intake causing growth problems.

The Acupuncture Treatment of Hearing Loss
Chief Complaint: Loss of hearing
Western Diagnosis: Deafness
Medical History: 7 yrs. old child came to me with a history of suffering with coryza and fever for 7 days and sudden onset of deafness in both ears. Audiometery was done which shows moderate to severe deafness in both ears. No relief with allopathic medicines and child was advised hearing aid
Questioning exam: Child was very irritant and was not responding to oral commands may be due to deafness

The Oriental Medicine Treatment of Herpes Zoster
A Case of Herpes Zoster
Nancy, 52 year-old female, paid her first visit on October 10, 2000, complained of rashes with burning pain on the area right below the left breast for 3 days.
She noticed millet-sized red rashes three days ago, which developed into small blisters and are clustered two days later. The affected area is very painful. Other symptoms include mild headache, anxiety, bitter taste in the mouth, mild constipation. She had not taken any medication for this problem.

The Acupuncture Treatment of Poor Vision
Chief Complaint: poor vision
Medical History: Patient was losing vision that could not be corrected with eye glasses. He was finally diagnosed after 3 years by a specialist at the Casey Eye Institute at the Univ. of Oregon Health Sciences Center. This disease is extremely rare and involves a type of hardening and twisting of the the eye. There is no treatment in Western medicine for this disease.

The Chinese Medicine Treatment of Epigastric Pain
Chief complaint Epigastric pain for a few months. John, 28-year old, male.
Medical History The patient has had for more than one year. Two months ago, the patient had severe epiagstric pain and visited his regular doctor and had his liver checked. The result showed that the functions of the liver were normal, but HBsAg was ++. He has had eaten some Chinese herbs for regulation of the spleen and stomach functions and got better, but he still has epigastric pain when ever he stops taking the herbs.

Medical History Emily, 36-year old, female. The patient has had edema which is more severe in the lower legs for one year. Three months ago, the patient visited her regular doctor and did a few refine checkup. She has glomerulonephritis and the urinary protein: +++, urinary red blood cell: 150. The Acupuncture Treatment of Panic Attacks
Chief complaint Panic Attacks
Relevant Medical History This is a generally healthy 32 year old female recently moved here from Italy. She ate a well balanced diet, was not overweight, excersized, and had a normal blood pressure. Over the past three months before she came in she had been experiencing panic attacks that mimicked a heart attack. They would come on suddenly at night, waking her from her sleep. She would wake with a pounding heart, and pain in her chest radiating down her left arm. She had rushed to the emergency room a few times, each time they found no physical abnormality, and no risk to her heart. The frequency of attacks was increasing, from one or two a month to almost every night the week before she came to see me.

She noticed shaking of hands one year ago, which has been progressing slowly. Her head started shaking six months ago. The shaking is usually aggravated by stress and emotional disturbance. She also has frequent urination, particularly at night. In average, she got up 3-4 times a night. She is slightly constipated. Other symptoms include lower back pain and fatigue.

The Treatment of Bi Syndrome “Knee Arthritis” with Acupuncture
Chief Complaint: Bi Syndrome “Knee Arthritis”
A female patient age 60 yr old with chief complaint of right knee pain deteriorating over a period of 2 years ,the pain is localized in the right knee accompanied by heaviness sensation, worse with cold and partially alleviated by warm compresses.
Over the period of two years and after seeking medical advice the patient had several modalities of treatment none of them could stop the progress of the pain. The x-ray film revealed osteo arthritic changes of the knee joint together with marked osteoporosis,so the treatment was composed of different forms of non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs “NSAID” together with Vit B 12 injection ,calcium supplement tablets and local anti inflammatory creams, gels, with nutritional advice because of her overweight.
