Chief Complaint: Dizziness
Western Diagnosis: Meniere’s Disease
Medical History: 54 yo male with 15 year history of Meniere’s disease. Vertigo, tinnitus and hearing loss, vomiting when severe. Tried diuretics, salt restriction, conventional medications, all without benefit.
Questioning exam: Had not tried alternative methods. Has had recurrent severe episodes with increased severity. (Always has the basic symptoms, however).The frequency of severe attacks has steadily increased, from 1 per year to 6 this summer.Heat exacerbates the symptoms. He also has a feeling of fullness in his ears.

The Treatment of Headaches with Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine
Chief Complaint: Headache
Medical History: Patient is a 56 years old male with general normal appearance, obesity: weight: 213 Lbs, height: 5’4″, red face and strong voice.
Chief Complaint: headache on and off for about 5 months, the pain is mostly “behind the eyes” and on parietal side of head, sometimes accompanied with nauseous and vertigo, usually he has from 5 to 6 attacks/week. Blood tests are unremarkable, blood pressure in the range of 140 to 145/80 to 85 mmHg. MRI and X ray shown no abnormal. He recently eating a lot of “fast food” due to lack of time for meals at work. He drinks from 2 to 5 cups of coffee/day and 1 to 2 drinks (red wine) after diner. Lack of exercise and physical activities due to very tired and heaviness sensation in body. Taking medications for pain with temporary relief but having a lot of side effects (especially stomach problems).

Chinese Medicine for Post Partum Constipation
Chief Complaint: Constipation after childbirth 31 years ago!
Western Diagnosis: Constipation
Medical History: 58 yo female,born in Switzerland; came to America with husband (business assignment)5 years ago. Upper/lower GI endoscopy revealed negative. Hysterectomy 6/01 due to uterus prolapse. Organic food, vitamins, and perform yoga exercise daily.
Questioning exam: BM once a day in the morning; however had to wait for at least 45 minutes before defecation and required great effort to empty the bowels with complete relief. Stool is formed,in the soft side, brown color with no abnormal odor. She also complains of spontaneous sweating, and low energy (fatigue); a sensation of fullness in the stomach and lower abdomen.

Chinese Medicine for Fatigue
Chief Complaint: Candida
Western Diagnosis: Candida and fatigue
Medical History: 26 year old female Caucasian of A Blood type and high simple carbo diet and recent prolonged use of antibiotics for both URTI and bladder infections. Very noticeable “Geographic Tongue” with thick white coating in the areas that were not peeled. Patients pulse showed a locked and “Slippery” pattern only in the middle jiao both left and right.
OM Diagnosis: A: Damp Heat affecting the spleen organ due to diet, stress and antibiotics. B: Secondarily, Liver heat because of sensitive nature and highly intellectual nature and liver type voice.

Acupuncture and Herbs for Heel Pain
Chief Complaint: Left Heel Pain
Medical History: At age 14, he was diagnosed with polio. And ever since then fear has been one of the predominating emotions in his life. In 1997, he voluntarily underwent a vasectomy. He felt this would allow him to engage in a fulfilling sexual lifestyle, without the worry of ever having any children.
He is a tall man, standing over 6’5, and possessing a very muscular physique. He is also currently undergoing marital strife, as I also treat his wife as well. There are seeking marriage counseling.

Chief Complaint: The thyroid was enlarged.
Western Diagnosis: goiter due to iodine deficiency
Medical History: The patient’s thyroid got enlarged, hard, accompanied with headache, stuffy nose, tending to catch cold and get tired, irregular menstruation, lumbago, neck soreness, and irritability.
Pulse exam: Pulse is wiry and thin.
Tongue exam: Tongue is red with white coating.
OM Diagnosis: Liver qi stagnation

Acupuncture and Herbs for Stomach Pain
Chief Complaint: Epigastric pain
Medical History: Male, 29
At age 16 the patient realized he couldn’t eat fried, greasy or rich foods on the same day as playing soccer without experiencing a burning sensation from the stomach to the throat. Began taking pepsid with a little improvement. At age 21, while in Sri Lanka he ate some yogurt which made burning so bad that the pepsid did not work. Accompanying symptoms included slight fever, irritability, and profuse diarrhea with a fetid odor and a burning sensation. Upon return to the U.S. he was diagnosed with Giardia and Amoebas. Prescribed Flagal which stopped diarrhea. Prescribed Prilosec for reflux which helped. At age 22, he stopped Prilosec and began managing the reflux with Chinese herbs.

Chief Complaint: Stress with accompanied symptoms is his chief complaint.
Medical History: Patient was seen for the first time in February of 2001. This was his first experience with acupuncture.He appeared anxious.His work is in selling bonds and he is not really happy with the job situation. Stress and the following symptoms were discussed:here was a past history of indigestion and chest pains. He exercises frequently and tries to watch his diet. His father died at 72 of heart disease . He used alcohol regularly and drinks 2 cups of coffee daily. Sleep can be irregular and takes Valerian and sometimes sleeping pills.

Chinese Herbs and Acupuncture for Migraine Headaches
Chief Complaint: Headaches
Western Diagnosis: Migraine
Medical History:
HPI: a 44 years old F. pt. seeks acupuncture treatment for her migraine today. her condition started when she was in 4th grade and has been treated by many doctors and modalities without satisfactory improvement. The patient denied her migraine associated with menstrual cycle or optical status but stress. Additionally, the pt. mentioned she would have a headache again if she skips meals a day. The pain primarily takes place on the left temp. area in a tense/consistent fashion, and could last form a few hours to 3 days, which affect concentration and feel exhaustion. She complaint ache and tension on the neck and shoulder areas, too.
