Some really brilliant research came out recently tracking a portion of a blood transfusion to new nerve growth in the brain.
The point here is that traditional Chinese medicine recognizes a relationship between Jing which is the precursor to bone marrow and gray matter, and Blood which is the red blood cells among other things (capitalized to include those "other things").
The relationship that is described in TCM is that Jing and Blood are inter-transforming. Jing can become Blood and Blood can become Jing. So, a blood transfusion ended up becoming gray matter or "Jing". Yup, it'll do that.
Interesting research, really.
